An online bingo game to raise cash for charity has been launched in time for the Democratic National Convention in the United States as Presidential Democratic Party candidate Barack Obama makes his speech.
Obama-Bingo is an online bingo game costing $10, which features a 25-square bingo card. Each of the squares has a word which Obama has used in one of his previous speeches and if he uses this word in his Convention speech, you must tick this off, as you would a number in a normal game of bingo.
The first person whose card reaches a 5-square BINGO is the winner. The winner will then be able to choose from a list of 581 charities, on who will benefit from the proceeds of the website.
The website has been launched by two Denver businessmen and it is entirely non-profit with 100 percent of the online bingo players’ entry fee going to charity.
Words on the bingo cards include popular political buzzwords such as “Iraq”, “jobs”, “galvanize”, “Washington” and “gimmick”.

Gala Coral have announced their Piccadilly Gala Casino is likely to close due to a fall in takings.
Gala attribute the fall in takings due to the same reasons that most casino owners have cited as reasons for their loss in trade, namely, the smoking ban, rising taxes, the scrapping of large jackpot gaming machines and the credit crunch. The loss of business from the casino is also being blamed on rivalry from the opening of the Empire Casino which is nearby.
Gala Coral have been forced to close 12 bingo halls across the country together with casinos in Bristol, Glasgow and Nottingham.
The Piccadilly Gala Casino’s future will be the subject of staff consultation and the only ray of hope for the casino is that a similar process at Sunderland’s Gala Casino led to the Tyneside venue staying open.
